I wanted to do something a bit different, and having spent 6 of the last 9 years in the military I really don't want to run around in the woods with an M4 in ACUs or BDUs. I went with a French loadout partially because I'm a huge francophile, partially to try and get a rise out of the anti-French crowd. First off, the obligatory FAMAS. It has a Leapers red dot. An M9, which the French call a PAMAS along with CCE drop leg kit. A sort of generic tactical vest that the French use when their commander doesn't authorize use of the Arktis 1601. French F2 type BDUs. The pattern is called CCE for camouflague centre europe. It looks a lot like US woodland, only a bit different. Some guy wearing it all.

Agreed! You don't usually see a well dressed FAMAS user. Nice bikes, too.

Very true. That doesn't look half bad. I like it.

You dared to be different, and did you EVER pull it off!! Very nice ;D Makes me want to work on my German loadout, and show my G3 some love now that the PTW has taken center stage in my collection.

I don't really really care for the gloves, but everything else looks really nice. I don't know if its just me or not, but it has been awhile since I have seen someone with a FAMAS, very cool.

Upon a second look at this I have a few critiques that could make the last picture (an interpretation you can make) better:
- I feel like some sort of headgear needs to be work. Perhaps do some research as to what type of headgear would accompany this loadout. - I also feel like the gloves could use some improvement

I do have some better gloves, but unfortunately they're still in a shipping container in Kuwait. I'll probably dig out my green nomex gloves before my next game. As for headgear I could wear a beret as pictured below. I could get a helmet, but even at work I do everything I can not to wear that damned thing. Oh, and for those of you who thought the US beret sucked, check out French mountain troops...

I would go with a helmet. Although, a black beret would probably work well too.
I did some research for you and the French Spectra helmet looks almost identical to a PASGT. You could probably just get one of those and put a CCE cover over it and it'd be good to go. I wonder what kind of body-armor they use?
Another suggestion that I could make would be a clone aimpoint instead of the cheapo dot you have on there now.

I've got an old PASGT laying around somewhere that I acquired when I was on active duty but I really, really hate wearing helmets. I may look at some of the spare black US Army berets I have lying around and see if removing the flash and the cardboard inside would let me fold it to the left instead of the right. All I'd need to do then is order the beret insignia and I'd be good to go. Or I could just get a boonie cap, but I like the beret idea better. As for body armor they wear the gilet pare-balle serie 3 and according to French airsoft forums no one makes a replica of it and it isn't sold to civilians. What's a good clone Aimpoint? I've looked around but I'm concerned that I'll pay a bunch of money for something that's really not any better than what I have now.

Honestly, they are all about the same. If you got about $50 to spend, you can probably get a good one.
About the beret, I don't know normally I leave things like insignia and stuff off my uniforms ,but that is just me.

About the beret, I don't know normally I leave things like insignia and stuff off my uniforms ,but that is just me. That depends... If it's some sort of generic French military insignia, I see no problem with it. It's sort of like a "U.S. ARMY" nametape on second hand BDU's. Actual unit insignia, worn by someone who was NEVER part of that unit is frowned upon at best. It looks to me like the French military berets are A bit larger than the American ones, at least for the mountain troops. Give it a try, I'd like to see the results.

Good job on uniqueness. However I will second an aimpoint over the generic red-dot. I also agree that you need something on your head. Other than those two factors, looking good.

I agree with Wolf. I have always been a fan of the old school woodland BDU's (I know yours are not US woodland BDU's, but they look similar).
