There have been the discussion of proper radio 'etiquette' on the forum but not the radio that people should be buying.
Should one buy a simple motorola radio or go extreme milsim and shell out $150 for a radio? Thoughts?

I have a couple sets of relatively cheap midland radios. They work, they work together (all 4) and they work with other people's radios of different brands. I don't see the need to dump a bunch of cash to get the same function as someone else. This is kind of contrary to many people opinion on here but I believe that form should follow function. Basically, if it works and works well don't fret over it. My radios don't make me look like an "operator" but they get the job done.

If you wanna buy the untacticool looking walkie because its cheaper then do it, you can always buy an MBITR case to put over it so it looks tacticool.

A link to this would be cool, I'd like to look into this. My major concern though is the bulk of a huge radio cover simply for looks. Again, I fall back to the form-follows-function argument with myself.
